FAQ
Common Questions
QDo I need to be good at art?
Absolutely not. Visual art therapy is not about artistic skill or making something beautiful. It is about the process of creating — what emerges and what it means to you.
QWhat materials do I need for online sessions?
Just basic supplies you likely already have — paper, pencils, pens, colours or markers. I guide you through everything. No special materials needed.
QHow is this different from an art class?
In an art class, the goal is the finished artwork. In visual art therapy, the process itself is the therapy. We use what emerges in your art to explore your inner world with psychological guidance.
QWhich modality will we use in sessions?
That depends on you and your goals. We discuss what feels comfortable and I suggest techniques suited to what you are working through. No two sessions look the same.
QCan visual art therapy work online?
Yes — very effectively. You create at home with your own materials while we work together over video. The therapeutic conversation happens in real time around what you are making.
